Default epilepsy in pet

Hi, posted a while ago about my Border Collie, which developed epilepsy two years ago at the age of seven. Until recently, she'd been having fits regularly every three weeks, despite careful vetinary monitoring of her medication.

About nine weeks ago, she had several ( approx ten ) fits in the space of 24 hours, and since then nothing.

Has anyone any knowledge about the likelyhood of epilepsy simply stopping after a certain period of time, or indeed if this is even possible?

Cheers, appreciate any input.

Lol, think she's a stranger to Astraboy, but you never can tell!

Stress is in the breed, to be fair, but there didn't seem to be anything out of the ordinary going on at the time.

I had a lab with epilepsy, he had it throughout his whole life but it was more infrequent as he got older. He mainly had fits only when he got too excited.

When he had his fits, we just used to stay with him and try and calm him, it was quite upsetting but he never seemed to suffer from it.

I had a dog who started having ?strokes/? fits when she was about 12. It was well-controlled on medication and, after a few in the next couple of years, she never had any more. She had to stay on the medication for the rest of her life, though, which owing to her already great age was only until she was 16. She died of something which was entirely unrelated to the strokes/fits or her age.

canine epilepsy is like human epilepsy, you can grow out of it.

Just remember my brother in laws lab has fits, will find out what they do about it, she is old now and getting a bit arthritic so I dont think the fits will finish her off, probably immobility.
