Which phone?........
Ok.... We've had a few of these discussions now, and I want to know what people think of the current range of phones available on contract. My contract with O2 is up at the end of the month, and I want a new phone. Which phone would people recommend?
I want
I work with phones, but on the forensic examination side, so although I know what data they can hold, I don't necessarily know what they're like day to day.
I currently have a N70 and find it too sluggish (even with the 5.0616.2.0.3 firmware) and don't need it. I love my Nokia 1101 (easymobile) however there is no bluetooth on the handset, so that's out of the equation.
Any input is appreciated.
I want
- Battery life should be good - 3-4 days standby after 6 months use
- Bluetooth compatible
- Preferably iSync (OSX) compatible
- Motorola handsets
- 3 as a CSP (Service Provider)
- A Smartphone (Symbian or equivalent)

Sorry - I should have made myself more clear in my original post. I don't want another Symbian handset. I'll keep the N70 for the Tomtom side of things, but want something more along the lines of a traditional handset.
A decent camera would be a plus though. What's the new SE K800 like?
btw - the N73 - is that a BL-5C battery?

Can people explain why they recommend a particular phone please? Don't mean to be a pain, but without their experience(s) of a particular handset, just the model number/name isn't much use to me.

Thanks for that, but I'd prefer to hear from the end-user who's had the phone a while, and not a journalist who's had the phone for a day or so.
That's not meant as an arsey reply, btw.... just that's the reason why I posted the original Q.

I cant recommend the SE K750i enough. Is easy to use. Looks great. 2mega pixel camera with autofocus and flash. MP3 player.
The new version, the K800i, has a 3.2mega pixel camera but it is expensive.
I put a 2GB memory card in my k750i and I have most of my music collection on it.

Long time no speak
I swapped by Samsung D600 for the new Sony Ericsson K800i and I am very pleased with it. Easy to use and camera is so good I don't need to take a seperate digital camera to do site surveys. Even pictures of documents are excellent.
So far I can't really fault it.

K800i is really grabbing my attention, however I feel I should stick with Nokia (got a lot of development going on re Nokias at the mo' :s)
How's you, tony?
The W850's looking interesting too, but might prefer someone to let me know what it was like (but it's not out yet )

I am fine and dandy old chap
W850 should be a cracking phone. I was never a fan of the old Ericsson phones but since their tie up with Sony they have produced some cracking phones.
As a reseller of Ericsson fixed line phones I am still amazed at how the traditional Ericsson values seem to be over-engineered and supreme reliability but very end user unfriendly. Luckily the mobiles have bucked this trend.
My new K800i is only my 2nd Non-Nokia phone since 1989!!!
