Supt Barry Jones, deputy divisional commander for North Wales Police's central division where the scheme is being piloted, said .............."this is just a method that's used extensively in the private sector to maximise the performance."............. .
He added there had been no evidence to date that officers were "cherry-picking" the activities which gave them the most points.
I liked the story I once heard about airport baggage handlers who were too slow in unloading the planes, so management introduced a new measurement scheme based on the time between the plane arriving on its stand and the first bag coming off.
You guessed it! The first bag came off damn quick - the most junior baggage handler was sent to get the first bag off, while the rest of the crew carried on with their tea break or whatever they do between planes....... The rest of the luggage ended up coming off more slowly than it did before the scheme was introduced!
This isn't a rant against baggage handlers BTW - just stupid Management!

he was also recently quoted that he liked nothing better in his spare time than nicking speeding motorists (isn't that illegal as well as sad?). Bet he's a right hoot to live with
