"Enterprising" Polish worker
Was rather shocked/bemused/dismayed with what's just happened.
Knock on the front door (I'm still on holiday
) - a scruffy-looking young-ish man was at stood there.
Once I'd held back my rather eager Labrador (
), I warily said, "Hello".
"Hello. Read card", was all he said.
With that he proceeded to hold out a card that stated in virtually non-recognisable English, that he was Polish.
It then went on to say (I think!) that he was asking for money!
Basically begging. Door to door.
I (politely) said,"No" and shut the door. He didn't seem too chuffed, so I waited in the porch (with dog!) and watched him leave the property.
He then walks next door and does the exact same thing!!!
Unbelievable!

and I didn't kick the whatsit out of him (although the dog would probably have shagged him within an inch of his sorry existence!) because that ain't the thing to do....

It means its a ******* scooby in a lake.... What else does SIAL mean? someone with over 6k posts should know by now.
I had Jehovahs come to work last week and preach their ****, did I feel the need to slag them off and start a thread?

first and foremost, there is no need to be abusive.
with 6000+ posts, I am fully aware of how the community works (in fact, as I joined roughly 2 years prior to you, I know exactly how this board and community works)
My query, although, tbh honest with the hostile attitude you have shown, why I should even care what you think, was why is it a Scooby In A Lake?
The "rolleyes" emoticon can be used to indicate expression of contempt towards idiocy. There is poetic justice in the fact that you have used that very emoticon.
The phrase that springs to mind is "if the hat fits......."
Now go away and try to ruin someone elses day - you won't be doing it to me

If I reported it, I would have to report the a$$hole who last week fired up his karaoke machine. Through a bl00dy big PA system and "performed" until about 2am!!
