Selling House: Local Search question
The people buying our house specifically want to extend the property but they're worried because the local search has come back with a restriction on new development but practically every house in our street has been extended.
I thought the restriction only applied to new build properties in the area and wouldn't affect an extension, but now they're worried that they won't be able to extend.
The annoying thing is, they only live across the road and have already extended that property so I can't for a minute beleive there's a specific restriction on our house and not theirs or our next door neighbour!
Anyone able to shed some light on these things?

Their solicitor should be able to to advise them, but consider that an extension may not be considered a "new" development perse as it is part of the existing one - just a thought! Also, as you say, what has already been done in the street will tend to set a precedent and make it difficult for PP to be refused (if they need it, depending on the size of the extension).
