Ipod / Creative Zen Vision M?
I've had a look at both specs on the net and it seems to me that Creative has the upper hand on the amount of video format it can handle over the Ipod. I don't know much about the video formats (hence you may see my question in CR) however I don't want to get stuck with something that takes up huge disk space.
Has anyone got constructive good/bad feedback on either (I'd prefer it if it didn't turn into a mudslinging contest !!)

Don't get an Ipod, they are technically rubbish
You're wrong they are brill, you are just a techno geek
Is your IPOD still working?
IPOD is more than an MP3, MPEG player it is a way of life.

When do you actually want to get the device? I ask as it's possible a new iPod video will be released within the next few months.
For video use I don't really rate the 5th Gen iPod Video. For a start the screen just is not big enough. I'd want something which is at least the size of a PSP's screen. I'm told battery life when using video isn't that good either.
As for video formats, this is what I pulled from the Apple website:
H.264 video: up to 768 Kbps, 320 x 240, 30 frames per sec., Baseline Profile up to Level 1.3 with AAC-LC up to 160 Kbps, 48 Khz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4 and .mov file formats
MPEG-4 video: up to 2.5 mbps, 480 x 480, 30 frames per sec., Simple Profile with AAC-LC up to 160 Kbps, 48 Khz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4 and .mov file formats
There are various apps out there that will convert to a format that the iPod will accept, but that's an additional step for getting video on the iPod.
To be honest, I'd wait and see what the next gen iPod has to offfer, if you can wait that is. Not exactly helpful advice I know, but it is coming from a self-confessed iPod geek, so it might count for something

Thanks Markus - I know what you're like with Apple .
I would like to use it for when I have to go away for work. My laptop bag is heavy enough without taking bits with it for DVDs and the battery is lousy too!!
I may well wait and have a nosy at duty free shops too.
