New To Scoob

Hi folks need some help on this one.
Currently got the TomTom Go unit which to date I've found great, now it is the original Go unit not the 300/500 etc.
The Q I've got is can I buy the maps for Canada/North America install them on a memory stick and away it will run, or do I need to update the software in the unit itself??

you can buy the maps from tomtom site for around £30+
You download them and straight install to your tomtom no upgrade required.

I bought some maps for my tt one works a treat!
