Need satnav for car like TomTom - but which is the best way to....
get a map of UK on a memory chip
and get a map of the USA on another memory chip
I need both UK and USA maps
I know the TomTom910 has both, but its plagued with issues right now and I daren't buy it (buugy software, cradle recharge, etc) See link for problems - http://www.gpsmagazine.com/2006/07/g...50_vs_tom.html
Was wondering if I could save money, buy something like a basic TomTom 300 or 500 which is SD Card based and just switch SD card's depending on what country I'm in?
Is it possible ?

I have the tom tom one and SD cards for other regions are available (including the US) for it. See here: http://www.tomtom.com/products/acces...143&Language=1
Sure you can get cheaper cards on ebay etc...
Touch wood, I've had no issues with mine and can't praise it enough!
Cheers,
Charlie

After reading a lot of reviews, including the one above, they say Garmin is the better product?
Ideally I don't want integral hard disk - much prefer an SD Card solution.
Just checked t'internet and garmin / navteq maps are readily available, so it looks like a C320 at £185+VAT for me, although I'm going to see a mate with a TomTom910 shortly and check it out.
