Default Cockpit shine - Euuuch!!!!!

Got a car that the previous owner must have had shares in cockpit back to black polish

What is best to remove it as it is bloody orrid!!!

Matie . .

This sounds serious . . .My only suggestion would be to work over it with an alternative cockpit shine . . Silicone free autoglym . . But this may hot be the solution . . .

Another idea that comes to mind, is just to use a good old fashioned degrecer . . Alchohol?

Think the last car I bought which the previous owner had "valeted" like that, I ended up washing it off with soap and water on a cloth, and then when it dried applying a nice matt-finish dashboard protector...

Why on earth do people still use that stuff??!!

Nope, still think it looks tacky wherever its sprayed... plus the silcone means its a nightmare if you ever need any paintwork doing...

this sounds promising Will raid the cleaning cupboard tmrw & have a look to see if we have any. Just need to ask the misses where the cleaning cupboard is

never had a problem in 10 years using this on the plastics under the bonnet

you setting fire to your car on a regular basis?

Had a similar problem, just keep wiping it with a damp chamoix leather, it will soon disappear.

if you want a matt finish on the dash, use autoglym interior shampoo on a foam polishing pad, will remove the existing cack, and leave a matt finish that wont blind you in the sun !
