Home Cinema System
Right S'netters once i eventually move into my new house i have earmarked a room for a Home Cinema
Room will be roughly 18ft x 14ft so a decent sized room
The room will solely used for Cinema & gaming with the 360 & possibly the new PS3 when it comes out.
So i am wanting you guys to recommend me a setup
I already have a 42" Panny with HD & a 37" LCD Sony but going to use these in the lounge & my sons studym so its all going to be new.
Fire away guys, though one main thing i want is BASS i love the stuff

What screen type do you want ? If the room is dedicated then a PJ may be better than a PDP. If you want to stay with plasma, then the new 58 range by Fujitsu are knocking spots off everything else at the mo'.
It may be wise to get a cheap DVD or re-use what you've got for now with HD-DVD and Blueray just over the horizon, although the result of the format war and inevitable dual format machines could be an even longer wait.
As for the audio, only your ears, taste, expectations and experience can really decide what you should get. My set-up is a budget one (£250 Pioneer 7.1 amp, discounted Mission speakers with my 18yo Mission floorstanders (BASS without a sub )) but when the upgrade path has tempted I have never been significantly impressed to part with any more cash.
Denon, Pioneer and Yamaha would be at the top of my list, and the old audiophile in me would have me investigating Arcam and Meridian for the electronics. For speakers I'd start with B&W, with maybe a REL sub.
Get over to www.avforums.com for much more knowledgeable help.

I was waiting on the AV one I have been looking there for the past few months. I just wanted to see what the Snetters have to say as.
I am totally clueless on this as the moment.

I rather like my Denon kit, not quite top of the range but certainly "up there", all of it gets good reviews.
2805 Receiver
2910 DVD Player.
No where near 10k either
All my audio kit is JMlab although I think that was the wrong choice.
Have you checked out www.avforums.com?
No point in me recommending a tv as I have the Pioneer 436XDE

£10k for a full setup can get swallowed very quickly.
I wouldn't bother with Plasma if you are gaming, stick with LCD, SXRD or DLP. Direct View is going to swallow the budget but what about a big rear pro to leave more money for the sound system?
If you go front projection and want a good HD projector and screen it's going to take a serious chunk of budget. Rear Pro will work well in a didicated room as you can leave the light levels lower.
For DVD player and Amp/Receiver I'd echo the Denon kit, you will need to decide what you want to spend on each. The top spec Denon amp retails at over £4000 but the AVR3806 is good value for around £850. I'd also go for the Denon DVD player, I'd go for the 1910 for now at £130ish and wait for the HD players coming out soon.
I'd also echo the Mission speaker suggestion and for a dedicated room I'd definately go for floor standers.
Sub wise, you can't go wrong with REL.
It's a bit tough to recomend an exact system as everyone has their own priorities.
Finally, dont forget to budget for cables.
Cheers
