Question Nokia 6230i strange message

Hi all,

JUst thought I'd try picking your brains

My daughters mobile phone (a nokia 6230i) is displaying a rather bizarre message. It says "Local Mode" and it doesn't seem to boot.

She has a pay as you go sim, with vodaphone and my old phone, following and upgrade

Any ideas?

Thanks Phill

have you either had the phone re-flashed with new software or had it unlocked from it's original network ?

it will display "local mode" while being re-flashed, sounds like it is half re-set somehow.. I take it that you have tried removing the battery and sim ??

Phone was on vodaphone to start with, so doesn't / wouldn't want a reflash. My daughter is 12, so can assume she hasn't done anything to it. Or has she?

I have removed battery and sim and tried again, but it's exactly the same. But I'll try it all again later.

Hi mate. I'm in Wakefield, West Yorkshire.

You can either drop by, or send me the phone (just pay post both ways)

I'll reset it with my box-o-tricks
