We'd be on dial-up if it wasn't for a rural partnership scheme in operation here that gets wireless internet to us. No hope of getting broadband as the phone lines aren't capable of it, and somehow I can't see BT doing anything about it...

Hello
I do know a few people who are still on dial-up. They have no need or desire for broadband. They just dial up, get their mail perhaps book a holiday once a year and that is it. Always on, fast connection, doesn't appeal.
I think that very-light users will go to broadband when it is included free in their current deal (Sky, Carphone Warehouse are two recent examples).

Yes, only due to the fact the I live on a private unadopted road, and BT wont guarantee to put it back to rights after the cables have been laid - or whatever they need to do
No need anyway - my bro has BB & a T1 isdn line (for work purposes
