FAO Watch Fans. Heard of blancpain?
how does their value hold up over time.
spotted a nearly new Villeret with the 100hr power reserve (twin coil) for about £1600. Very beautiful. Watch 33 of ??? Box, papers etc. I think the list price is about 3500.

Very nice watch.
I disagree with a few people here about looking at watches as an investment though. It seems to be just a very very few that make money.
I like the advert for Patek Philipe (could even be for Blancpain).Something about 'you never actually own it you just look after it for the next generation'.
Buy it and enjoy it.Certainly nice and subtle.

This is the one:
http://edbartlett6649.fotopic.net/p31801856.html
It has continuous seconds at 6 and 100 hr power reserve (from a single wind) at 4.

Doesn't look like that at the moment though after a trip to the alps and back...you can barely read the number plate for dead flies, and I mean literally.
In fact I'm sure one or two of the impacts have caused dents

decided to pass on the blancpain and instead bought a very nice 1960 Rolex Oyster precision with original crown buckle. Very pleased

it's almost exactly the same as below, except with single marks at 3,6,9 instead of double, plus the hands are more sword shaped with a bevelled inlay, and the minute marks are longer and extend right to the edge of the face.
