Parking ticket?

Parking ticket?
I was parked on a single yellow line today and I drove off as the guy was printing the parking ticket.
The dude said it's to late as its printed.
I buggered off before he could stick it to my car as I think its not valid until its handed over. Is this correct?

They make whatever rules they want. Hertford used to take a picture with a little PDA showing your car on the yellows, tap in your reg and mail you the ticket. They could do the whole street at walking speed, no need to wear out a bic.
Better luck next time.

Also, did you know - if the warden is not wearing his/her hat, the ticket is invalid!
Saw something on the TV that said if the double yellows do not have a solid bar at the end, the ticket is also invalid... around here there are loads of patches in the roads, many of which intersect double yellows and I've often thought of parking there and trying it out, but probably couldn't be bothered to dispute the ticket.

Your allowed to drive away before they place it on your car, they cannot tell you to wait, they cannot obstruct you.

I got a ticket at the weekend at an indian wedding. Funny thing was the warden was on a scooter and he parked it on double yellows when he wass issuing the tickets. Over 20+cars got tickets. 2 bike wardens and 1 in a car. The other bike warden parked his bike on the public footpath. Sure that is against the law. Shame I didnt have my camera. BTW they also took photos of the cars even though they placed the tickets on the vehicle

They take digital pictures these days - even in Car Parks!! It ends any dispute I guess?? Makes it fair??
But, I don't think they can make you pay as you cannot put a parking ticket on a moving vehicle - clearly!! No ticket no fine in my book - but then I am not the one paying or about to get grief!
I parked behind MacDonalds once whilst the wife popped in for a Happy Meal - a traffic warden came up and told me I was parked on double yellows - I said I will move ............. I then rolled forward, then rolled back, then forward, then back - I told him he could not ticket a moving vehicle, he agreed, but was mad as hell

They place the notice/charge bolox thing on the car and somethimes photo it to prove that they've done so.
They can send it to you in the post within the next few days, I think... They HAVE TO appraise you of the infringment/charge/fine in good time.
If the next thing you hear of in a month's time is a late payment or other threatening letter, state that you were not appraised of the situation at the time of the incident.
They "should" give up at this stage. Though in some cases, they may get arsey.

I would ring the council, give the numberplate and ask if there are any outstanding fines, that way you know if they are tring to do you, if yes, ask for the proof they have and see what happens.
