I bought a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX01 at the weekend.

http://www.photographyblog.com/revie...x_dmc_fx01.php

Leica lens, 6 megapix, 3.6 optical zoom, very small, lovely screen, enough menu items for me to play with. Oh, and it's damn sexy.

Just under £250 from my local camera shop, and I also got a 1Gb card for £35 (camera comes with a poxy 16Mb card I think).

Very pleased.

Jimmy, I was subtley trying to say that if you tell us your budget, whether you want a compact, autofocus, possibility of manual settings, DSLR etc, you might get more useful replies?

I took a few shots with someone's T5 at a party - was REALLY impressed with it, for that purpose. Seemed pricey though. If £95 then a bargain indeed!

Wife has a Casio Exlim EX-Z 600. She's the least gadget crazy person you'll meet but she loves it and can't stop showig it off. Uses it all the time, takes it everywhere 'cos it's tiny and it looks smart.

Takes bloody good pictures too

We got the T5 from ASDA, they sold off all their cameras in a big sale and with a discount card (misses works at asda) I walked away rather happy So easy to use though. flip the lens cover down snap a shot in a second and close the lens cover, straight back in the pocket job done. its only about 1cm deep so can hardly feel it in the pocket as well Smart piece of kit IMO. Eats batteries though but its a rechargeable one which is good

I have a HP R817 compact camera and is great for the type of pics I take and also the video is fairly good aswell, you can also zoom whilst filming video unlike a lot of other cameras.

I also have a Canon EOS 350D SLR Digital Camera, but it depends what you want from your camera.
