Computer Weekly magazine disclosed that the delay will mean the scheme is highly unlikely to be running by 2008 as planned.

What if I have fake ID now (say, I stole it from someone). I.e I have a passport in this alias, along with license, billing address, NI no and birth certificate?
Surely all these will qualify me for the "new" ID card in that name too.

They are only interested in close control of the law abiding amongst us, the rest is too difficult and not in their agenda anyway. Of course they will be cloned in no time at all. It will be an excuse for a new tax of course, amongst the others we will be saddled with.
