Working Conditions Advice....Help Please
Hi all,
I'm after a bit of advice for the wife....
Here goes, she is currently working as an Administrator for a Nursing Home, the problem is they are looking at kicking her out of her office (so the new Matron can move in) and putting her in a shed (lean to) outside in the garden!!!!, which is currently used as a garden shed / store. They are looking at putting a new roof, door and putting power out there, but thats about it....
Anyone know what the legal minimum working conditions are for an administrator and where I could get any info from..?
Thanks in advance...
Tony

LOL doesn't she know when she's not wanted? If someone told me to work in a shed I'd bury them under it!
Seriously, if it's as bad is it sounds she hasn't got any choice but to look for a job where they value her.

hmmm shed, with new door ,new roof, electricity... sounds like an office to me!
Get her to double check that it will have a lick of paint, a window that opens (if there isnt one already), heating and some furniture, then tell her to count her blessings that she will have a nice quiet space all to herself, with garden views, as far away as possible from 'matron' and any other nasties
My bet is that she'll be the envy of everyone.

i've had several jobs where i've worked in a "portacabin" - doesn't sound much different to me...
only thing i'd be worried about is the temp - very hot in summer, very cold in winter...

if your wife wants to scupper there plans its easy!!
Just ask if they have planning consent to use outbuildings as offices
And i,m sure a :cough: telephone call to the council :cough: would make them aware of this
