Red face Combat Fitness Test, Passed with Blisters

Guys,

Just done my CFT this morning which is a annual test, 8 Miles in 2 hrs with 20Kg which includes weapon.

Normally this is a doddle, trouble is i started to get a couple of hot spots early on and by the end was proper sore. big fu*k off blisters on the ***** of my feet.

There was no way i was stopping as getting the pish riped out of me in the mess was not worth it ,lol.

Question is, this has never happened before and the bootsand socks have never let me down usually, anyone any ideas how this happened, no stones or folds in socks either.

Thats me hobbling about like a fanny this weekend, HA Ha.

Cheers,

Mac

When I do ours, I find you can't beat Compede. Bear in mind in this weather your feet sweat and swell a lot quicker than usual, I always get hotspots so I've just given up trying to stop them

Wink

Pete, i know 20Kg is fu*k all,we are not all in the SF(OR WAS) its the blisters i was asking about not the weight, the socks i wear have never let me down before, maybe my feet have grown in the last 5 weeks since my last boot run, LOL.

P.S for someone "over there" doing security work, you don't half get yourself on here a lot, must be bored lol.

LOL we had to do a CFT every Friday afternoon before we were allowed home for the weekend. Outside 2hrs meant a saturday morning re-try and if you passed you could go home Sat dinner time if you failed you stagged on for the weekend.

How i loved doing them..........not.

My wife says i have hobbit feet now, you cant beat good quality footwear, standard issue stuff is generally crap or it was when i was in 14 years ago. I am a little heavier now and i am sure doing one would kill me now, old age and easy living has taken its toll.

Maybe your feet got overheated in the hot weather making the surface temperature higher that usual.

I hate it when they come out with crap rules like that, if your willing to spend cash on good quality proven military footwear you should be allowed to wear and reap the benefits from them. Lets face it the issue stuff is generally crap anyway.

Hi Mac, I broke my tibia and fibula last September and recently did my first CFT since then, was a real relief to pass it. Really thought I would fail it, so the CO ended up tabbing with me and had a pretty good chat.
I was allowed to wear my Lowas tho as i had been issued them before, which was ok by me!!!
They were less impressed with me strapping my gat to the side of my bergen, but you've gotta try it to get away with it!!!

Dartmoor is a beautiful place, as long as you don't have to do too much running all festooned with heavy kit.

LOL @ 20kg is that all

we did a CFT in the Falklands and the entire platoon finished in 1 hour 20 mins and our PC was still not happy, one of the hard lads in the platon turned round to our rupert and said if that ain't good enough then transfer me to another platoon, which went down like alead balloon. If any of you have been to the Falklands we did from Mt Pleasent down to Mare Harbour round the quarry and onto the QRF shed where we had to firemans carry one of our fully kitted out colleagues for 50 metres the into the back of a Bedford round the back and out again.

Can't help with your blisters sorry
