Default Gas / Eleccy up again

Just received a letter from Scottish Power, prices up as follows

Gas
First 1143 KWh 3.979 up to 4.456
Remainder 2.176 up to 2.653

Eleccy
First 225KWh 12.226 up to 12.796
Remainder 7.002 up to 7.572

excluding VAT

Looking at EDF, their prices are lower but you have a bigger first kwh usage, anyone use them?

Have a look at www.uswitch.com and compare prices. I almost switched to Scottish Power from British Gas recently, but bailed out as they were just announcing more price rises. I went with Southern Electric for both gas and leccy in the end.

I'd switch but the problem is with all the price rises you are going to get stung wherever you go.

Besides, my bill has gone up so much I can't reliably say what my annual spend is

I went on the price ratio before they all started going up, Southern Electric were cheaper than BG before the rises so I'm hoping they will still be cheaper after the rises.

Southern Electric were top rated for customer satisfaction too, so that was partly why I switched to them.

Got called out to a house fire last Thursday night caused by that. Made sure the fire investigator got the meter. The guys in line for prosecution, void buildings and contents and a massive bill from my company

Just not worth it if you’ve got kids/Mrs in the house.
