Egg were god for me, not the cheapest at 7.7% but only worked out to be £5/month more than the cheapest at 5.9%. Payment holidays, no early repayment fee, over payments etc.

try Northern Rock, they usually are good but internet / phone only which can be a negative for some peeps.

Northern Rock = £8,000 at 5.7% repaid over 36 months to save you looking at their website.

Have had good experiences with Royal Bank of Scotland and Northern Rock. Both very good APR.
