ponds...duckweed!
**** me, does that stuff grow like the clappers, or what!
any ideas on how to control it?
the water is lovely and clear underneath, fish seem fine ( apart from Willie ) , its a pain as it tangle sup with the oxygenating plants. I just fished a rake out with the net, but in 3 days it will be all back again

People might suggest barley straw but IMHO this won't work at all. Duckweed will not grow in moving water so is there anything you can do along those lines? I used to spray surface and direct weed to one side of pond and then remove with fine mesh net. But it just came back again!!
Not trying to sound patronising but you do mean duckweed and not blanket weed for example? Have just found some good stuff for blanket weed btw dl

this stuff:
and there is some movement in the water from the return pipe, but obviously not enough!
I suppose I just have to revert to the manual method? It's a pity the fish won't scoff it.

I suppose getting a duck/s is out of the question? I have no problem at all since the ducks/moorhens have made my ponds their home.
Also, it might be worth you checking the quality of your ponds water (ph balance) as duckweed spreads rapidly, especially in water containing high levels of nitrogen and phosphates. You might be able to change or add different plants to adjust levels if necessary.
Get a pump too if you haven't already, duckweed prefers still water.
Failing that, keep fishing it out and stop moaning.
