One issue can be preventing natural growth due to high weight loads etc, also muscle damage could be an issue, however unless he's doing very heavy weights then it shouldn't be too much of an issue cos of his age and nearly beeing fully grown.

age that growth finish's varies form person to person, it can be as late as mid 20's in some cases, but as said as long as he stays clear of heavy weights he should be ok.

He needs to start small and develop over a period of months (upping his weights slowly)

I started at 2kg (dumbell), increases or 2kg over a 6 month period, will enable him to progress without doing damage

To give you a clearer picture, I am 27 - I now bench press 110kg (About 17stone) - I have been into Weights & Boxing since an early age - I currently weigh 16.1 stone

He has to remember, to not just work specific area's (eg - Bicep) but concentrate on all aspecs, Triceps, Legs etc.

Please shout should you need anything

Look for evidence that he's starting slowly with very very light loads, eg Rizla papers.

Make sure he's not taking steroids by drug-testing the semen samples left in the shower plughole.

Pinups of topless shots of Arnie are acceptable. Pinups of topless shots of Backstreet Boys - get worried.

No probs - One piece of advice I will give, protein substitutes are crap - He will need to manage his diet, which means "No drinking on school nights "

Plenty of chicken, pasta, steak

Cut down on Bread, chips, Potatoes etc

"Body tone comes first, then body mass"

He eats loads of meat, but I don't know if he will give up his chips
And he wil not suffer to eat veg, apart from sweetcorn

Not so much give up, just cut down, (an incentive!)alot of carbs will not do him any good, more so if his overall aim is to gain muscle mass.

Veg - Must eat veg!

Cardio also needs to be balanced

Running, Swimming, Jogging, Skipping, Cycling etc.

As he gets into it, work different body parts each day

Monday - Weights
Tuesday - Cardio (30 mins skipping will do wonders!) press/sit ups, squat thrusts, tricep dips (v good, hurts like hell the first time)
Wednesday - Swimming

etc.

Alternate, weekly

Lesley, the weights in your gym at home aren't going to do him any harm; they're very light.

So what are good foods to eat to gain weight. I'm 26 and really struggle to put on weight. I'm just under 11 stone and have been for the past 7 years. I do have a fast metabolism and abseil for a living.

As if you're old enough to have a son of fifteen, 84?

Years of practice, Plus Boxing always helped, It always helps when you have a kind of personal trainer at hand, a guy who's 64, still trains (daily) and still works as a doorman!!

Although i can push 110kg, I tend to stick to about 80kg for daily routines, 110kg is the maximun i can push (my boasting figure if you like! ) I have mates who can push nearly 200kg! but their in a different league to me!

I guess perseverance is the key, that and a good regime. See, i've always been big, never a vain person , I was quite the fat kid at school (still have a belly, but thats down to the wonder of beer!) always got bullied, never been the bully, but i dont have that problem now

I monitor my body dimensions weekly, to check mass distribution, Arms, Chest, Waist etc. Buying shirts which fit is an absolute bitch!

make sure he knows how to lift the weights properly. jaring your back or ripping a mucel hurts like hell. as long as he has good form when lifting he should have no probs as long as he does not try to run befor he can walk. best of luck to him. it a pain in the *** to keep it up three plus days a week but it all worth it when the beach seson comes. lol
