Question

Anyone know of a cheap PCI graphics card with TV-OUT that is still available somewhere in the UK?

I just want a cheap one, with composite video out, for my in-car thingy...

Clues anyone?

Cheers! Nick.

Have a look at this site.
Go to ATI graphics cards and then have a look at the all-in-wonder radeon.
My work paid for mine about a year ago. £150.
Should be much cheaper by now

Steve, it was directed at Gregh as I don't have AGP in the machine that it's going into - cheers for the help to all! I've had a look on the net and people want silly money for what I want!

I'm after an xpert@work or xpert@play cheap. can't find one at the moment...

Have you checked out the NVIDA MMX 400 or is it 200?

Cheers Damaja, will see how cheap I can get one. I'm after something old, as it'll be on a P90 and not used for any remotely flashy graphics stuff, but that's a worst case solution

Why not look at the Voodoo 3500 if you can get one, should be peanuts, they are the one up from the old vodoo 3000's which I also had and they are only 16meg but also fly!

I agree that an ATI would be your best bet, but the CF2 MX's are an option. Unfortunatly, they require something resembling horsepower to even become remotely functional. I think that you would do do the system more harm than good if you planted one of those in a P90.

Have had a quick scout around for you, will look more tonight.

To my knowledge, only the Voodoo3 2000 was available in PCI form, the 3000 and 3500 were only AGP. Could be wrong though, but I am fairly sure (Ex Voodoo Fan)

Cheers,

Nick

Nah you can get them in PCI as well, I have held one in my hand when a freak in a games shop tried to convince me it was an AGP card

Sorry, you are indeed correct. I remember them now, they were released quite a way after the original 2000 though, i think. Better option the the Geforce 2, but still quite resource heavy. The ATI's will probably have the best quality TV-OUT too as well.

They use a Cyrix 100 as one of the test machines. Might be worth a look. Pics not working, but you get an idea of what I mean about resource heavy.....
