Default Part Xing a car, that has waiting list

If I was to part exchange my car for a new model that will not be released untill Jan 07, would they do the deal now, and take my existing car? and then just continue the deal when the car is released?

Or do I keep the car untill the its out?

Antone have ant expirience doing this?

Cheers

Yep, I part exchanged my Golf and then waited for 8 months for a Cooper S to be delivered.

I bought a Fiat Uno for 500 quid to run around in and actually got quite attached to it.

I have heard Honda dealers are giving fixed values for current CTR owners, don't know about other makes, someone on the CTR forums said that his dealer will give him £8250 for an 02 CTR and he has paid a £500 deposit.

I px'd an Astra Sport against a Puma in 1998. I had to wait 5 months for the Puma so the dealer gave me a price for the Astra which he would honour come the switch as long as the car remained in the same condition (i.e. excellent) and the mileage didn't go beyond an agreed limit.

Regards

Steve

The new Civic Type R doesn't go on sale until March 2007 by the way, so a little longer wait will be required.
