Default What's scrap aluminium worth

I've got about 50kg of scrap aluminium - some 205GTi pepperpot wheels and two Triumph Stag cylinder heads - all only worth going to the scrapper.

What's it worth, and where would I get rid of it to...
...or would someone come along and pick it up from I?

Q. Why have I written this like I'm a broad Bristolian

About £750 a tonne at the moment, from memory, so it ain't worth a whole lot unfortunately. Aluminium alloy is worth slightly less.

Me too,

I have 3 ally engine blocks, 40 ally pistons, 8 ally heads, 4 ally inlet manifolds sitting in my garage gathering dust. Must be pushing close to 100kg with that little lot.

So £75? hmm, maybe they are worth rebuilding then

You've got a deal at £2.50/kg

When do you want it!

PS. Not that I understand these things, but http://www.metalprices.com/# shows Alu Alloy at $2.285 (£1.23) per kg. So is yours just re-assuringly expensive

In fairness aluminium has gone up in the last few weeks, so your probs talking £1000 a tonne, £1 a kg. It is, howvere, still scrap value, and not worth more than the car it was fitted to when new
