anyone know anything about breakdown trucks, mot exempt etc ?
ive had a spec lift recovery truck for a while mot's up in a few months or so, i know its quite easy to register them mot exempt i believe the forms a v112g ?
anyway couple q's i cant seem to find answer too, do i have to wait till she needs to be taxed to change it over to exempt? or do i just fill in a v112 and send it off? also its still currently registered as a tipper so i spose the first thing i should do is send it off to get changed to a breakdown truck.
just after a bit of advice.
i more than likely will still mot the truck even when it is exepmt, its just something i want to get done as 90% of specs are registered exempt these days

Fill in the V112 & send it off. Always good to keep it in tip top condition as well.
Me & a friend have a 88 ERF N14 8 wheeler with Holmes & a spec lift capable of pulling 80 tonnes. We just use it for recovering his buses & the odd truck & trailer when needed.

new bit of info you dont even send off the v112 lol, you basicly produce a filled in v112g when you tax the vehicle, its basicly a declaration to say its mot expempt
all i have to do is register it on logbook as breakdown truck then everytime i tax it fill in a v112g and possibly a v10
