Good plan except it is actually illegal to pay for an ISA with a credit card. The money you pay in must be 'cleared funds' i.e. not a loan, sorry

To all intents and purposes the cheque that you pay into your account is cleared funds.

...and if you pay your credit card off each month...get an Egg Credit Card, an Egg Mortgage Saver account and an Egg Mortgage

Use the credit card as normal, or even better transfer other credit card balances into it (0% interest as well)

Each month, pay the minimum amount on the Egg card, and pay the rest into the Mortgage Saver Account. Here it effectively earns you the mortgage rate of interest (5.95%?) tax free 'cos it offsets your mortgage interest.

At the end of six months pay off the Egg Card completely from the Saver Account...6 months at £1000 per month on the Egg Card makes just over £100 saving, again for not much effort
