Default Washington mutual

Had an email from these. have nothing to do with these people and certainly no account. email as follows-

"

We recently reviewed your account, and suspect that your Washington Mutual Internet Banking accountmay have been accessed by an unauthorized third party.Protecting the security of your account and of the Washington Mutual network is our primary concern. Therefore, as a preventative measure, we have temporarily limited access to sensitive account features.

To restore your account access, please take the following steps to ensure that your account has not been compromised:

I assume this is a scam? anyone heard of them before?

Agreed. Mind you - this company did make some of the funniest TV adverts ever! I'll see if I can dig them up and post them on here...

Yep - absolutely. A large financial services provider in the US. www.wamu.com is their official site. I'm not sure why they've resorted to spam to gain new business - doesn't seem particularly ethical to me!

Yes- big US high street bank.
