Parking in taxi/disabled dropoff/pickup area at supermarket.
Just wondered if anyone else gets annoyed at lazy people parking in the area set aside and marked for taxi/disabled dropoff/pickup at supermarkets.
I never bothered taking a piccie before but lunchtime today seemed more "worthy" than usual. The owners of both the nearest cars in the photo were behind me in the queue to buy sandwiches. My car is several rows away in a proper parking space btw.

Doesn't look like disabled space though. What's the exact regs for it, and how do they define "pick-up/drop-off"? 30sec, 1 min, 3 min, must have driver in car...?

@ the comments above.I sometimes use these spaces
. Like men who left settling down too late must find, disabled are often the only ones left at the market. What's the proportion of people with disabled badges to those who don't have them? It seems to be about 1:3 at Sainsbury's!

It's marked as a bay for dropping off and picking up, basically for taxis etc and people getting collected. Not sure of the exact rules but I know the supermarket (Asda) sometimes clamp people who park there (i.e. nobody in the car) because I've seen them doing it. The disabled parking spaces are further up the car park.
I've seen the Police parking there many times while they've been buying their lunch, but today was the first time I've seen 2 of their cars parked there. I know sometimes they are there on official busness but I don't think walking in and buying sandwiches counts. Besides, official business or not it means that the taxis have to stop and block traffic to pick people up.
I'm not one to write to the Chief Constable but do think it sets a pretty bad example, its no wonder that lazy chavscum park there if they see the Police doing it.

disgusting behaviour....
My Dad years ago was always getting hassled by idiotic traffic wardens in our local town.
So when he saw a local police car and traffic warden car on disabled spaces and yellow drop off zones, he took some pictures.
Then whenever he got hassled, out came the photos..worked a treat.
Wouldnt work today I guess, but fun at the time

I spent £50 on a baby seat to put in the car so I can use the parent bays and get away with it, small price to pay for dint free doors

I disagree with disabled car parking, from a psychological point of view it is emphasising the fact that they aren't normal. To make them feel more accepted and a part of society they should park like the rest of us.

LOL - Parent and child spaces are another matter entirely... I'm 31 and will always be my mothers "baby". She is now 60. Can we park in these spaces? What if I was a father? Then I would be a parent and a child, so could I park there on my own ... They are nothing more than a marketing ploy to bring in pain in the ar$e parents who drag their skriking kids round with them everywhere they go. Wait till the other parent comes home then go to the shops on your own! How hard can it be, theyre open 24 hours now!! I have no qualms about parking in parent and child spaces anywhere Bring it on 
As for spakka spaces... I wouldnt park in one but I agree with a poster earlier re the disproportionate number of spakka spaces at some supermarkets and wonder how they decided that a 1/4 of the spaces at my local tesco should be yellow bays with wheelchairs painted in the middle. It's as if they over ordered the paint!! Always cars parked in these bays with the appropriate cards in the window BUT how many wheelchair users or zimmer frame users do you see in the shop? NONE! Mind you the doctor offered my mate a disabled badge for his car because he was diabetic... The lad plays football 3times a week FFS
Still regardless of my observations and their frailty I wouldnt park in a disabled bay...Unless its to use the cashpoint
As for waiting/pick up bays... Folk can't leave the car there unmanned and go and do a spot of shopping! Thats naughty and if the police are doing it then send the photies to the top cop

They should be treated/ridiculed like any other person in society but the physical differences still have to be addressed - toilets, stairs, ramps, vehicular access etc. Its something i'm sure we all fear might happen to us one day.
