Cool Panini 2006 World Cup sticker album...how sad!!!!

I've been meaning to do this again for ages, so yesterday went and bought an album and 50 packs of stickers! I would of bought the full 100 box but that would have been £35!

250 stickers in total! Plus the free pack of 5 inside, and I still never filled it!

I have the following:

Football '79 - glued-in and complete
Football '80 - first sticky album with one missing
Euro Football '80 - one missing
Autocar 80? - complete - sent away for the 4x4 lambo.

Tempted for a retro Germany '06, enjoyed opening them and finding a gold badge with club crest or cup... those were the days when Coventry were in the First Division proper!

I did Transformers at school. Had 10 missing and my mum filled in a form and got the exact ones from Panini for me for my birthday. Not sure if they still do it or only after x months on the shelves.

Where are you going to do the swapsies though? I think if you hang around school playgrounds it might look a bit suspicious, and I can't imagine there will be many other "collectors" at the pub or the office.

I got the full italia 90 book. And I also completed the italia coins collection from bp. Only I ruined it by writing in the restuls from all the games. Should have left it untouched. However, I do have an unopened star wars tazos folder and the complete set of tazos

Well tempted to do the world cup sticker book.

Do they still smell as good as they did, that was half of the pleasure, nearly as good as Play Doh.

I remember "decorating" my mum and dad's room with Italia '90 stickers when I was 12, then for good measure I wrote little messages for them on their wall telling them which side of the bed was each of theirs.

They didn't like the stickers

I got my box from ebay. £30 so I saved a fiver.
Just ordered the max of 50 stickers from Panini. No need for swaps now I guess as I can just order the rest I need from them in another order.

That reminds me, on Saturday I was in WHSmiths buying Practical Performance Car and Retro Cars, went to the till to pay and in front of me was Plastic-scouser single mum and 4 kids.

Mum buys £20-worth of various stickers, so I'm thinking they're all for the kids. Now this was bad enough as the woman behind the till was like Mrs Overall out of Acorn Antiques but then, as DoleMama puts the stickers in her bag and I think it's my turn at the till the eldest kid pulls out a £20 note and starts with the "I'll have £3.60 worth of Merlin Germany stickers, £2.98 worth of Panini Beckham Wears Pink, how much is your Celebrity Turds sticker book" etc.

Eventually, he gets all his stickers and then kid number 2, who was ginger, pulls out a £20 note and goes through the whole rigmarole again. I turned to look behind me and the queue was now reaching the back of the shop.

Then kid number 3 pulls out a £20 note and at this point, Mrs Overall rings the bell for some assistance. Luckily kid 3, who wasn't ginger but didn't look like either kid 1 or 2 so I reckon they all had different dads, knew what he wanted and I was thinking there's only the girl to go so she'll probably just take £20 worth of My Little Donkey when ginger-bollocks rejoins the queue in front of his (probably half) sister having found 6 pound coins in his shell suit pocket and he was crying because he didn't have the Peter Beardsley Gurning Yearbook.

My apoplectic rage had reached the point where I was going to write a stern letter to the Daily Mail, but then they finally opened the other till and I shoved past the Scouse Family Moron.

I was really annoyed, I mean £8 for 2 magazines!

I get all the local little sweethearts in the village shop where I work buying these stickers.
Its an art. They have to choose their own, at random from the box. Woe betide me if I were to choose them for them. It's certainly stretching me maths, "Mrs, how many packs can I get for my pocket money ? " Arrrrrghhh !
What I want to know is...... have they brought out a Theo Walcot card yet ? Surely the collection won't be complete without him ?
Yve
