Hi Simon,
Got my 510 last week, bought it in Halfords in the end (couldn't wait).
Bear in mind this is my first sat nav. so I don't really have much to compare it against other then seeing TomTom on PDAs and the One being used in other peoples cars.
First off, love the bigger wide screen. I can read it easily without having to strain my eyes and also means I can have it right at the bottom of the windscreen.
Usual TomTom cool stuff, but you also get the speed camera database thrown in for free. I've already changed the voices as the standard female was a right stuck up cow. Got one that talks dirty to me now.
Although my mobile isn't listed on the TomTom site (Motorola V500), this hooked up straight away and can easily make calls hand free via the 510. Even did cool stuff like copied over my phones phonebook.
Directions are spot on and GPS signal is aquired quickly. Even works in the house.
You get a docking/base station with it that allows you to hook up at home and run their software to copy over maps, POIs, blah blah and also allows you to backup stuff. Also acts as a charger and battery life is a little over their stated 4 hours.
Love it.
Cheers
Ian
