Default recommend me some earphones for hifi...

Just for use with my iPOD and stuff

My favourite type are the small Sony Fontopia "earbuds" (small things that fit really comfortably in my ear) but they don't last more than a couple of months without breaking

Don't want to pay more than £40

Sony seem crap these days so which makes ?

I bought some Sennheiser PX100s for my young un's MP3 player and they sound absolutely awesome. Only about £30 as well.

Might that have something to do with it? I'm not being flippant here, I have a pair of Sony Fontopia MDR-EX81 earphones, which I think are great and haven't fallen apart, but then I don't use them every day.

Perhaps if you want something that lasts you will have to pay a bit more - the Sure E3/E4 are supposed to be excellent, but cost a lot more than £40.

One thing I have heard, is that the Sony earbuds are more comfortable than other brands
