is that relative to what you pay i.e a 3k car is £250-£300 is there any vat on top?

only pay vat on vans . The auction i used to buy cars from the price ranged from £35 for a car worth a £1000 upto about £250 for a car worth say £9000. This is to gives you clean title to the car if it turns out to be owing on hpi.
