Long weekend - what to do?
I have this weekend off work. Basically from Friday lunch time, then back to work on Tuesday morning.
I am trying to think of things to do, and the current favourite idea is a European roadtrip. I'll be on my own (sad eh?!), so can anyone suggest some good places to go to? I've been thinking of driving to Germany as I have never been there before.
I'm going to go and buy a Tom Tom sat nav unit to guide me along the way, so I'm just planning on punching in the destination and setting off.
How easy is it to find places to stay as I travel around?
Thanks.

ROADTRIP
You taking the Scoob or another weapon?
First issue is crossing the channel.
Ferry - drops you in Calais, Zeebrugge etc, Hook of Holland, Hamburg.
Chunnel - Calais
Nurburgring is not far from Hook of Holland. Driveable in a day. Check out Sliders Guest House (Google for web address.) Friendly place, and if you go by yourself, just be friendly. I ended up getting 3-4 laps as a passenger for free... be wary of dodgy drivers; the owner confirmed he was safe.
Autobahns in Germany will get boring very quickly, plus its suck your petrol!
There are lots of cool places about 1/2 days drive from the Nurgburgring, places that look like Cinderellas castle, I think the area is called the Romance road; Brothers Grimm etc.
Mosel is a nice route, starting at Trier.
You should be able to get decent B&B accommodation on the fly (I did a motorbike tour a few years ago just going with the flow, no plans.)
I wouldn't go too far down south, as its a long way to get there and back.
Hope this helps get the ball rolling

I'm going by VW tdi power, so Nurburgring would probably be a wasted journey!
Cinderella's castle? Maybe that's Neuschwanstein? I've always wanted to go there, so I'll look to see how far it is.

I went as far as Goa. For two weeks though. Strange the effect women can have on you.
Euro road trip is a great idea! Prague too. So is Sweden, Denmark or Finland.
