Welcome to my world, Spent the last8 months with this problem, 1st sky engineer blamed the tree in the back garden so hacked that down to no avail. 2nd engineer blamed the box and replaced it with a new one, still played up 3rd engineer diagnosed a faulty box and replaced it to no avail

Finally had enough and cancelled my subscription so had a fiddle. It turned out to be a loose connection at the lnb which took me about 5 minutes to fix. Now rain or shine get a perfect picture

Low Noise Block downconverter, basically its the thing that sits at the end of the dish ,although i would not fiddle whilst you are still subscribing. The best thing to do is ring sky(sure there must be some competent engineers out there) request an engineer, they will give the usual speel about costing £60 for an engineer to be sent out. You say dont think i will bother i will just cancel, then they will have a word with their supervisor and they will magically send and engineer out for free.
I have done this every time and never paid a call out charge
