Question

We are having a Halloween party next week. It started out as a kiddies party but now have as many biggies coming as littleun's. We have sorted the house decoration, (ghosts, tomb stones, spiders, pumpkins, smoke machines and black lights), scary music and fireworks. All I need now are scary food suggestions and party games for both adults and kids. Any suggestions?

Cool

hehehe cool.

Last year, my Brother in law threw a party for his neice and nephews at my sisters place. They went completely mad with all the decorations etc etc and got food dye and coloured everything green that they cooked. No-one ate anything...but it looked spooky.

Tizer for drinks-Red, looks like blood.

Lots of crisps and dips with funny colours.

Sorted.

scary food has to be dripping black pudding and mushy peas for the grown ups and not sure for the kids.Buffy the Vampire spaghetti?

as for games that suit both,no idea!! Take my kids to a Sports centre and let them worry about it!

Cheers guys - keep em coming

Sal - live ones? I'll want to eat something after all that beer. Spiders are really hard to catch, and a leg of chicken is much more filling

DBA - we decided that everyone would chip in a tenner for fireworks. There are about 45 coming. You can buy an amazing amount of fireworks for 450 quid.

scary food ?

well my other ½ is available next week to do the catering at a very reasonable rate

when u end up in casualty the next day you'll realise just how scary it was

games: well if u got big garden and decorating it then some sort of find the pressie with Halloween theme ? clues dotted around ? treasure hunt thingy i guess? obviously need nice evening for it!

adults : hmm, they prob be happy with just the eating and drinking game

u could also get a pc sorted or hire machine and do Halloween themed karaoke ! be gr8 once peeps got a bit drunk. kids do it to as well (although hopefully they wont be drunk then again i dont know the sort of parties u have m8

Games - A version of "Feel the Sportsman" from "They think its all over". This can played by kids and adults. The adult version just takes longer and of course you have to guess which witch is which?

Scary Food - McDonalds?
For the kids drinks buy some of those cheap plastic tumblers. Put these near a bright light and the drinks glow in the dark. It works here in Jersey but then again we are very close to the world's largest plutonium dump on the French coast.

We've just had our party last night - went down a storm.

Have to say the best part was the:
-DIY drunken fireworks display TM
-DIY drunken limbo dancing competition TM

Notice the subtle use of alcohol in both scenarios.

TIP#1 Make it fancy dress with a Halloween theme, although the bloke who turned up at our party in the Batman outfit was a bit dubious.

TIP#2 Black out your front passage, strategically place various drunken mates in Halloween fancy dress (Dracula, Frankenstein, Grim Reaper, etc...) so that as new guests arrive and walk to the 'party area', they get the **** scared out of them by said mates, who jump out from neighnoring rooms, etc...

TIP#3 Have a very loud expensive HIFI play the CDRs you burned the night before, containing a compilation of freely downloaded Halloween themed songs and sound effects from the Internet (eg. Exorcist theme, The Omen theme, Wolves Howling, Footsteps, etc...)

-DV

OK - just show up whenever suits you. I can organise mammoth parties at the drop of a hat. The halloween one started off as a small gathering about 10 days ago. We now have 60 people confirmed, and another 20 possibles. Hope its dry, cos there is no way I can get 80 people in the house
