Anybody else notice the recent multiplying of speed camera's in London?

The short section of the A406 at the bottom of the M11 now has 4 all on the clock wise side!

A thought a few years ago the Met Police Commisioner said they didnt need more camera's as it didnt achieve any thing but alieninating the public!

What piece of road you talking about? From the 50 limit to the A406 (southbound)? Or from the Redbridge to somewhere else?

There is a new one on the A102(M) just before the Old Ford turnoff southbound.

From the Walthamstow direction towards Redbridge they have ripped out the Gatso and replaced it with a Speed Check unit and put in two more 500 metres a long and looks like another Speed Check unit by the redbridge round about fly over.

Seen a number of places where they have pulled out Gatso's to put in speed check units. As these are 5 metres up they are difficult to damage but other than that not sure why they are changing them.

I did notice that the one from Whipps X onto the A406 coming down to the M11 that way had changed but thats looking on the A406 anyway...

Do people STILL get caught speeding through cameras? Everyone knows they're there, everyone knows to slow down for them so how inattentive do you have to be these days? Your policeman in a bush, hidden van yes, but a yellow gatso?????

Yes they are revenue generators but they only get the inattentive and those not looking out for them.

What's a 'speed check unit' ???
