Fear of Flying courses / hypnotism
Right, need some advice on getting over a fear of flying.
Well, not actually of flying itself, its more a fear of the 'process' of flying, if that makes sense.
I've flown numerous times, European and transatlantic, alone and with people. I know all the stats. I just don't particularly like it.
As I get older (and especially with the way the business has, excuse the pun, taken off) I'm having to fly more but conversely my discomfort at the thought of flying seems to increase each time, making me quite anxious leading up to a flight.
Anyone had the same problem and overcome through hypnosis / course or similar?
thanks
Ed

If you want to have a bit of a laugh and find out just how remote the chances of the worst happening actually are, check out the aptly named:

On a personal note- I used to get nervous taking off and landing, and with turbulence. Im ok now- the more I fly the better I deal with it. I just kind of convinced myself that if something goes wrong, then it goes wrong and its out of my control. Got to the point where I dont bat an eyelid now at any of it and I am totally comfortable doing it.
Also doing a couple of flying lessons in a cessna helped a lot, as I then understood (broadly speaking) why the plane does what it does. You could try that? There was a noticeable change before and after I had flown the cessna with how calm I was when flying so it definitely worked for me.
