Which DVD Do I get?
For relatively small amounts I can get either a
SONY S735D
or I could get
PIONEER DV-444
or even
Toshiba SD-530E
Not the latest and greatest I know but they seem to be of a sort that would suit me.
I need a Player to give Very good sound reproduction as I don't want to waste my speaker set up ( Eltax Liberty 3 fronts..... Eltax Libery Centre.....Gale 3010 rears.....Eltax 100W Pc 2 channel Subwoofer. Running through a Sony STR-DE475 receiver
My Tv is a 28inch Pansonic quintrix TX28-DTX1 with a picture I'm very happy with.
I tend to play either CD or MP3 dependant on my mood
I have tailored my sound set to get as close to realism as I can during movie play back. I need a dvd that has enough of it's own audial presence to lead the amp into new areas without adjusting sound level from the amp
Which of the above dvd players would suit my needs best. The image must be full and bright with subtle hues that lean towards life like rather than cartoon like.
Can anyone give me some advice on this?
thanks
Martin

If you want good Audio reproduction then the Denon DVD1920 seems to be the choice at the cheaper end of the market. Have a look over on AV forums, most people say sonically it's a major step up from the £100-£150 players
Multi format including SACD and DVD-Audio.

Ive just replaced a Samsung HD 850 with the Denon 1920 , And its a big improvement , picture is crisper , colours are more defined and you can actually see the difference when changing screen resolutions now , something you coudnt do with the Sammy.
Beware though the Denon is in short supply , and I had to wait 5 weeks for mine .

I vote for Denon too although I echo above they do seem to be having supply problems. Some of their models are unavailable indefinately.
You could also get a Denon 1910 from ebay - also excellent - especially the DVI connection.
