Reporting Immigrants cars?
Locally to me there are a lot of foreign registered cars about. Mainly Polish , Latvian, and Lithuanian. I know they are all in the EU now and so can take their cars to another EU country for Six months without needing them to be registered in that country. However, it has now been for more than Six months that a lot of the cars i regularly see have been in the UK. They have no UK tax disc and i'm guessing no MOT or UK insurance.
Who is responsisble for ensuring that they comply with the law and register the car in the UK now it's been here for over Six months and get it taxed, MOT'd, insured etc? The DVLA? The police? It's not just a few here or there, there are easily 100s of them in Northampton like this.
If we all have to pay road tax, and insurance (and if it was enough get it MOT'd) then so should they. Who do i report them to?
Some of these cars are complete ****boxes and would blatantly not pass an MOT which is no bad thing a lot are thrapped around busy/narrow (when there are cars parked eiher side) residential streets at all hours with no regard to others on the road or pedestrians.

Hi Nat, have you seen the light blue Calibra with stickers covering 20% of the bodykitted to **** bodywork and a high level wing you could feed a family of 20 off of driving at close to warp speed everywhere yet.
Yes, there are a lot in Northampton but i imagine they will get ignored by the powers that be as it will be seen as picking on a minority. Not suprisingly enougt they all live in roughly the same area of town as dumped there by our short sighted council who have ghettoised them there and made it a no-go area for a lot of others - Multicultural Great Britian in 2006 eh

Hi Paul, don't think i've seen that yet, will take a wide bearth if i ever do! There is also a huge van/lorry type thing that someone uses to bring new families in from Poland every week that looks like its destiny is to wipe out an entire family when a wheel falls off/suspension fails/rusted chassis snaps
What area do you mean? I live in Abington and there are a fair few round round there and a fair few more in the Mounts near where my gf lives that i've been seeing regularly for six months at least.

Ive raised this before,
they have scant regard for any legislation, i saw one youngster, buying wheels from a scrappy. he bolted on one wheel went for a drive , checked to see it hadnt rubbed, and then put the rest on. I bet he didnt notify his insurance co either.
but as you say, plod will turn a blind eye, protected minoritys and all that.
it amazes me, they all speak fluent english, untill you want some information from them, then they miraculously forget how to speak anything other than there own on english tongue.
my only advice i would give, is if in an accident with one of these cars, get whiplash, or a *cough* serious *cough* injury that requires the bib to attend. at least they will be able to get some details from them.
Lets see if any of our resident feds, will offer advice ()
