Freelance Badger

My mobile phone is playing up (Motorola V525) and although I could get a free upgrade I want the same again becasue it's so good at getting a signal in remote places compared to anybody elses and that's what I really need.(Not bothered about poor camera or lack of video etc).
Of course they no longer in stock - hence looking on Ebay. Can I just buy one and stick my Sim card in it? Or does it already need to be Vodaphone (as mine is) / unlocked / Not pay as you go?

It doesn't matter if it is PAYG or not mate, be careful it is unlocked as some networks lock their handsets, this is a fairly easy thing to do but can cost around £10 at a mobile phone store.

I see a lot of ebay phones that people want unlocked but they are actually barred, legally there is nothing you can do with a barred handset. Can be used as paperweight.
