Default Having difficulty with coursework and helmholtz coils.

Basically we have been set the task of using electromagnetic dampening to prevent lateral osillations in a sheet of metal.

For example if the metal was orientated this way | preventing osillations in these <> directions through the thinist dimensions of the material.

From previous knowledge I have decided that a helmholtz coil would be best to do this, as using lenz law i know that a current induced opposes the motion.

However how should the material pass through the coil.

Should it be -0-0- passing through the centre of the two coils

or should it be 0|0 passing between the coils.

Cheers
