Anyone had dealings with the CSA recently??
#1
Just had the initial request for info form off the CSA which I need to send back within 14 days. Has anyone had dealings with these people recently and able to offer any advice on best things to do, how to handle it?
The thing is, myself and my ex get on reasonably well, and we'd come to an agreement on finances that we were both happy with. It meant her claiming income support which meant the CSA were automatically notified. Niether of us wanted them to get involved but they have and we can't do anything about it. The thing is, we've kept records of the money I've 'spent' on my daughter and it works out at a reasonable (ave. £500 p/month) sum. We're not sure whether I'm going to get stung more, which niether of us wants, or she's going to get stung as she'd claimed income support, which we don't want either. It's all a bit confusing and a little scary, the horror stories you hear don't bode well. Any encouraging words would put me at rest.
Thanks.

Hello
I would (As suggested) get a solicitor.
From my dealing with the CSA, I would say that they really don't know what they are doing. And, more interestingly, if you ring their advice line they say completely different things depending on a/ Who you speak to and b/ Whether you are a man or woman.
I did a test, where I phoned up, asked a question and was told "Oh .. that'll be a minimum of £500 per month". My girlfriend rang up, asked the same thing "Well, you will be lucky if you get £300, but try for alot more".
Surely they are not biased?
Steve.

Just for info, got the assessment through today - works out about the same as I already pay so it's just formalised what we've already done. It's a sigh of relief at the end of the day and gladly shouldn't hinder my dream for the P1
