Council tax went up by 3-4% in the latest bill but I don't really care because







They have resurfaced the entire 2 miles from the A14 to virtually my drive with 4 inches of super super smooth tarmac

They have spent more in re-surfacing that road than I will ever ever ever pay in council tax! There's only 3 houses at the end of my road.

Prior to this it was an extremely muddy, broken up and pot-holed single (just about!) track road.

I've already boosted my bottle-corner speed by 3mph Wish I still had PTMW! as I'd wind up the suspension and bust 50mph through it no problem

We just bought a 4x4 to deal with the pot holes round our way. Just need to get bull bars fitted to deal with the damn climbers congregating round them all on a Saturday afternoon

Lets hope they havent spent all that cash resurfacing so they can build a load of horrible identical and small houses nearby

Be in no doubt that in 4 months time it will be dug up and badly repaired - then same again time and time again just like every other road due to the lack of joined up thinking

I thought that was just a ploy to keep people in work. We have a section of road nearby that was taken down to the base and resurfaced a couple of years ago. Within 4 weeks of this being complete, the road was widened and traffic islands installed - this required the entire surface to be removed and replaced. A week after this was finished, pheonix decided to run a major pipeline across the road, so they dug up a 20ft section right across the road. They then decided it was in the wrong place, so they filled it with blue tak and dug up a 20 foot section about 100 yards up the road, laid the pipeline and filled with more bluetak. The traffic islands were causing congestion and minor prangs as the two lanes on each side were too narrow for a car and a bus/lorry/old person to get through at the same time, so they were removed and the lines were burnt off and redrawn. Net result was that the road had roadworks on it for the best part of a year to return it to the crappy condition it was in when it was started

Still - at least it kept 30 men in yellow jackets off the dole queue

The tax will go up further now the council pay for the coffin dodgers to go free on the buses. Theres one woman who just sits on the bus all day at a cost to my local council of £240 a week

No - Dave is better than Watto because he is.

He also has considerably more money than everyone that doesn't have craploads of money, but that is not where he is coming from. Brumdaisy - DTS has had the ups in life which he has worked his bollix of to achieve. He has also had more downs in life than I would ever care to deal with. It is very rare that I feel the urge to justify someone elses post, but in this case, knowing a little bit of history and both posing styles, I think you should maybe do a little research before you start slating people
