Thumbs up Mike Oldfield : Tubular Bells

Fantastic!

I've just been listening to the remastered version and it certainly brought back some memories.

When this album first came out in the mid 70's there was hardly a house I could go in to without hearing it.

He is so talented as he was only 19 when he recorded it, I think he played each instrument himself.

A good CD to have in the car for long trips BTW, it fairly mellows you out.

K.

saw Mike Oldfield play it live about 12 years ago at the Royal Albert Hall - one of the best concerts I've ever been too

Agree with you, have still got the LP (big vinyl disk) for those that don't know what an LP is. Must get a CD for the car.

Did a thread on Tubular bells a couple of years back, one of those that deserves an airing every now and again.

Great album I`ve got it on vinyl, It`s a picture disk so may be worth a bit sometime in the future.

Great isn't it.

"Sounds of the Sixties" on BBC 4 is worth listening to sometimes.
