I've had a look at the RAC website for details of a car i'm buying which was a personal import from holland in 2003 (new) but it doesn't show up?
Also when getting online insurance quotes the reg number doesn't work?
is this normal (the seller bought the car new as a personal import and is the only owner on the logbook)

Is it a private plate? if so then it's possible that is why it's not showing up.

No, it's got a standard plate (starting DX) - might be an import prefix?

My 2 litre Legacy B4 RSK shows up as a Legacy 2.5 4-Cam when you look up the number plate, but the engine size is listed as 2 litre.

Apparently it's normal with Imports, the DVLA used to just put down what they thought the closest UK model was, or just not bother at all.

About 1/3 of their records (for cars and drivers) are inaccurate according to recent reports.

I imported a bike from Southern Ireland once - The reg still shows up as a 5l V8..... bet that was quick

None of the cars I've imported show the details when getting quotes.

Will a HPI check bring up the details? (don't want to pay £35 or so to find it isn't listed)
