Job Application question

Job Application question
Hi,
I have applied for a job and passed the first stage-basically I have the qualifications. However, they are asking for proof on my ability and have requested my dissertation, and other uni work (applied for graduate level).
Is it me, or does that seem strange? I know dissertations sell for £20 ish in some places. Its not a top firm, infact never heard much about them at all.

Nobody showed more than a passing interest in either of my degrees. Never been asked to provide proof of any of my qualifications. By all means take it to an interview to show them if they want to see it.
Actually there is 1 qualification I have been asked to provide evidence for - driving license.

If the degree/dissertation is relevant and vocational then I could understand it - otherwise seems a bit odd to me!
Never seen it happen and never happened to me working around 40% of the FTSE 100.

its just one of the methods they currently use to filter candidates,
its often an agency driven thing, ring and find out,
onthe other hand it may be the approach of "if you dont bring them then your not the right person, as you cant follow simple instructions"
best of luck though
