When a Horse Race finishes in a Dead Heat

Can anyone tell me exactly what happens with your bet?

does the price get halved or your stake get halved?

I'm told two different things by two different people??

Knowing the bookies the stake will get halved - in both cases the winnings are the same but you only get half the stake back!

winnings calculated on half your stake!

ie £10 win bet becomes £5 win

E.g. £10 win at 10/1 (Deadheat) = £5 x 10/1 = £50 **Plus half of your original stake of £10 = £5**

pays £55
