Looks like a Spit, later one, by the wingtips, shame you cannot see the canopy.
Always a pleasure to see and hear
I think it is the anniversary of the first flight by K5054 which was the prototype today so should bhe a few around the sky which is a good thing.

Outstanding airoplane of course, but we should not forget the Hurricane which although a little slower, still handled better below 20,000 feet which is where most of the air to air battles took place.

Hurricane is my favorite of the two and often treated as the poorer relation.

Great sight to see that - stirs something inside. The Hurricane was cheaper than the Spitfire but the Spitfire was much faster because they smoothed over all the rivets on it?

Hurricane overal design and construction differed from the Spit. The hiurricane was more 'traditional. Lot of wood used and canvas as covering large parts of the frame which made it easier to construct and repair.
The spitfire was faster due to design and construction, it was built and clad in Alluminium and was more aerodynamic and efficient.
Hurricane was easier to fly in general +better visibility on the ground (just) plus a wider track undercarriage.
Spit was fater and more manouverable at speed.
Hurricanes accounted for more ememy shot down in the Battle of Britian. Spits delt with fighters and Hurris with bombers as a rule.

You can always tell when one of them is up in the air, the sky sounds angry.
Living near a small airport they do come over occasionally. Always nice to see and hear one.
