Based on average number of lessons and average failure rate, each client can be worth IRO £1.5k. Obviously some pass 1st time after very few lessons, but other do not.

When I gave my dad a lift to the pub after passing my driving test, he got out and said "I've never needed a drink as much as now!"

I'd heard it all depended on the teacher

He's just lucky you didn't say to him:

"Me too, make mine a double scotch on the rocks!"

Congrats to him. Now the worrying begins , when he's late home .... you have one more thing to worry about.
Never forget the day I saw our 17 yr old son go speeding past us in the opposite direction , only to learn on our arrival at work that he'd hit ice and tried to steer between a tree and a fence. The tree won. Wrote off his precious Fiesta and except for a few bumps and bruises he was ok. A sober lesson learned there.
I hope that sort of thing doesn't befall your boy. Good luck to him.
Yve

Tell him to remember these two important things

Don't drive where you can't see

&

Don't occupy the same space as another vehicle !
